God's Way For You To Go To Heaven

“The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.” (NKJ)

"So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." (NKJ)

"For this reason we also thank God without ceasing, because when you received the word of God which you heard from us, you welcomed it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which also effectively works in you who believe." (NKJ)

"Now the Bereans were of more noble character than the Thessalonians, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true." (NIV)

In these verses we understand that God does not want anyone to perish (be lost), but all to be saved and that is why He sent Jesus and gave us His word the Bible. We must not only hear the word of God, but welcome it into our lives, receive it as the truth; which it is. One must hear and understand to believe.

Jesus said, "Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for if you do not believe that I am He, you will die in your sins." (NKJ)

"But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him." (NKJ)

"Then they said to Him, "What shall we do, that we may work the works of God? Jesus answered and said to them, "This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent." (NKJ)

Jesus said, "I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish." (NKJ)

"Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent," (NKJ)

"Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, "Men and brethren, what shall we do?" Then Peter said to them, "Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit." (NKJ)

These verses tell us that if we do not repent we will perish, repentance is not a suggestion or an idea, but a command. Repentance is one of the requirements for the forgiveness of sins.

But what does it say? "The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart" (that is, the word of faith which we preach): that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." (NKJ)

Jesus said, "Therefore whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven." "But whoever denies Me before men, him I will also deny before My Father who is in heaven." (NKJ)

We must confess that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.

"What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it? Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection, knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin. For he who has died has been freed from sin. Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him, knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no longer has dominion over Him." (NKJ)

Then Peter said to them, "Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit." (NKJ)

"There is also an antitype which now saves us-- baptism (not the removal of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God), through the resurrection of Jesus Christ," (NKJ)

"For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ." (NKJ)

“And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.” (NKJ)

The sixth chapter of Romans tells us that baptism is a burial where we die to sin. Baptism is where we are "united together" with Christ in the likeness of His death. There is nothing special about the water--it is where Jesus said I will meet you. Then as we arise from the watery grave of baptism we are to walk in newness of life. Sin having died we are a new creation in Christ. Just as Christ died, was buried, and arose; we too must die to sin through the watery grave of baptism and arise being a new spiritual person. Acts 2:38 - says we are baptized to remove our sins, and when we obey this command we also receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

"Then those who gladly received his word were baptized; and that day about three thousand souls were added to them. And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers." (NKJ)

"Now on the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul, ready to depart the next day, spoke to them and continued his message until midnight." (NKJ)

"Then Jesus said to His disciples, "If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me." (NKJ)

"And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books." (NKJ)

"If you love Me, keep My commandments. (NKJ)

"And you will be hated by all for My name's sake. But he who endures to the end will be saved." (NKJ)

"This is a faithful saying, and these things I want you to affirm constantly, that those who have believed in God should be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable to men." (NKJ)

"Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city." (NKJ)

"But He answered and said to them, "My mother and My brothers are these who hear the word of God and do it."(NKJ)
